Baldwin County Alabama Real Estate

There’s a reason why Baldwin County is one of the hottest real estate markets in Alabama – when it comes to work-life balance, this area has it all. The county earned a 178 on the EASI quality of life index, miles ahead of the national average of 100. And despite the high quality of living, the cost of living is surprisingly low. Data shows that Baldwin County has a cost living index of 89, compared to the U.S. average of 100.

Economic and real state prospects also look rosy, as Baldwin County is the number one tourist destination in Alabama. Businesses thrive in the area thanks to access to several major highways, four airports, railways, and the ports of Mobile Bay. Many job opportunities are available in key industries such as aerospace, manufacturing, and warehousing, among others.

The Baldwin County School District supervises the 45 mostly award-winning schools that serve the area’s 30,000+ students. The area’s excellent schools offer education from the Pre-K to early college.

Because of its charming people, varied recreational amenities, and lower cost of living, Baldwin County has become a popular retirement destination as well.

Baldwin County’s signature feature is its long stretch of stunning coastline. In all, there are 32 miles of white sand beaches that offer countless recreational opportunities.

Baldwin County perfectly marries urban landscapes with green spaces, as evidenced by its over 20 parks and recreational areas. Take a relaxing stroll at Bay Front Park near Mobile Bay, or commune with nature by camping at Gulf State Park.

Since the area has a sizable retiree population, the county also has great medical facilities, including three local hospitals and several urgent care centers.

Baldwin County is home to many prime housing options, including gated communities. As is typical in the area, lot sizes usually start at 1,000 square feet and can go all the way up to over 2,800 square feet.

Most home here are single-family and range from bungalows to multistory properties. Architectural styles vary, too, with some homes favoring a ranch aesthetic, and some sporting a New England vibe.
